It's an indoor plant. It could be outdoors during warm weather.

Just what are the temperatures where you live? Likely low enough to blacken the leaves.

Temperature has been in the high 50s to low 60s in the days and 30s in the nights.

Crossandra is a tropical plant that struggles in cold wet soils and/or cold damp nights and outright gives up when frosted, even lightly.

Aside from that, plants are best planted/transplanted with their roots untouched. Despite universal belief that tweaking, twisting, snipping, unravelling, sloshing or any number of "tricks", research shows that overall, plants have the best chance of survival when no more "damage" is done to their already-struggling roots. My recommendation is to never allow a plant to get so rootbound and never buy a rootbound plant from the nursery in the first place.

And B1 doesn't work. It's not only a myth, it's become a million-dollar industry scam.

Is your question should you dig it up and repot it into a bigger pot? Despite the fact that you'd only be disturbing an already-overly-disturbed plant, I say go for it. Put it into a larger pot and bring it indoors into the sunniest window you have. Don't prune ANYTHING any more. Go easy on the watering. Forget the B1. No fertilizer; yet.

In time, your once-beautiful Crossandra may come around.

What it does do is make the gardener feel better, that they've "done something". And since gardeners buy B1, not plants, it continues to sell.

The 30s nights is what did it in. Must be 55F or higher.

Just a comment. I bought my first Crossandra a year ago. I live in Phoenix, Arizona... hot, dry and little or no rain. I planted the plant in a big pot on my patio. It gets morning sun, hot and direct middle-of-the-day sun and afternoon shade. It gets regular water. It is a beautiful, lush and flowering plant. I love it. I can't believe our nurseries here don't make it more available. It's been through a winter (mild here. No light freezes this year.) and a summer (hot and dry!) I have asked for it where I bought it last year, but no luck. Now I discover I can propagate it by root cuttings! I'm so excited! Next spring, I'm gonna make sure I've started lots of little plants!
