Thanks FJ. I am sure that there will be a similar sale in the fall like there was last year. I much prefer fall planting to spring planting anyway since our weather in the spring can go from mild to hot in a blink of the eye. The fall provides a much milder, wetter, and longer time period for the clematis to get established. With a good mulch, the roots can continue active growth well into the winter even after the top growth has been zapped back by frost.

I was about to lament my lack of funding and space, because I want Tie Dye so badly... but Miguel, you made me feel better. I don't really have room for more clematis (I think 9 huge 18" pots on a 15x4 balcony is already pushing it, don't you?), but it's so tempting to keep buying! It's an addiction, I tell ya!

Violetta, I would just worry about the weight on the balcony! LOL I love my Tie Dye and would never be without one.

Oh Miguel, that's stunning! Tie Dye is on my short list too Violetta. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pic. I've only ordered clems mail-order so far from Koi Gardens.
They don't have Tie Dye. Where do you guys recommend placing an order?

I actually *did* give in to the extent that I perused the Koi Gardens sale. If they had Tie Dye at an AMAZING price I doubt I would have been able to resist. I'm actually glad that they don't carry it!

I never should have read the other post about Koi's sale. I ordered 5 clems, then emailed them to add one more the next day. I can't wait for them to arrive. I could plant now but the site says not shipping until early April - that's seems so far away.
Well, now I want Tie Dye. I should get it because my husband's a Dead Head (as in Grateful Dead fan.) It would be much better than the Jerry Garcia Beanie Baby I paid way to much for years ago! At least the clem is beautiful!

I don't know what kind of reputation Wayside Garden has with you, but I know they carry the Tie Dye. People over rose forum absolutely hate their roses. I never have ordered roses from them before, but other perennials and bulbs that I got from them were very descent if not counting their smallish size.

Joan, that doesn't mean that some kind person here in the states can't order it and send it on to you this fall bareroot once it has gone dormant. That was the only way I could get Mary Rose here in the states.

Miguel, if you're offering to be that kind person, I may just have to take you up on that. I find Spring planting works better for me than Fall planting with our short growing season. We have a new garden centre being built here, to open end of April. They may not get their clematis in til May, but I'll certainly be checking on a weekly basis.

Joan, the only reason I suggested fall bareroot is that the weather warms up here much too soon in the spring and I am afraid that the plant might cook on its way to you. Contact me by my email address if you want to discuss this further.
