I grew this plant once, Varigated Bishop Weed in a retainer bed - part shade/part sun. It's a cool looking plant. Over a years time it became very invasive. It took me forever to get rid of it - ended up having to pull everything up out of the bed. Unfortunately, I don't grow it anymore. But I think if you have the right spot and plenty of space, it makes a great ground cover. I'm a city gardener, so I'm limited on space.

I've been warned by others and seen with my own 2 eyes that the variegated is pretty but very thuggish, too. I've stayed away from it. A pot, maybe is a good solution.

I've heard it can cause a rash like poison ivy. Yuk! I'm staying away from this plant.

I have it under some pines in the woods - while it has spread it does not seem to be overly agressive - I love the look of it .....

I was given some by my Dad's neighbor a few year's ago and planted it under a tree down by our driveway. But without a lot of watering during drought, it survived but didn't thrive. I am now landscaping the area along our creek on the other side of the drive and I've moved most of it over there to keep it watered and it's happy and starting to grow. I also love it and if it spreads a bit where it is, that will be fine with me. I may change my tune down the road. But I also just dug up a clump of Queen Anne's Lace from a nearby ditch and planted it down there as well and may regret that also. Time will tell.

In a pot with other plants?
Crowds them out with root competition.

You could put in a gallon pot of it inside the larger pot with the other plants or leave it in a large pot by itself.

Mid-summer will begin to look ragged, so cut it back & water. In a few weeks all new leaves that will last until hard frost.

IMO best in a pot anyway due to the creeping roots.

I've had pots of it for years & it's always nice to have something you can count on to tuck here & there in empty spots in the landscape.
