I grew this for about twenty years, I grew it on the north side of our woodshed. The best I can describe the color is purple-blue with a magenta bar. One of my favorites, a good bloomer.

I love this clematis, I got it at a local nursery last year and it flowered most of the summer, even though growth was little. Now, it is only 8 inches tall and has buds on it. The color is hard to describe, since every one I see looks different from the last. I also have it in a similar site and it grows well. I think the color is right, bluish with a magenta stripe in the middle.

How does this one do when being hard pruned? ... does it still flower heavily?
