Tropicals and houseplants are what I root now. Whenever I see the experts say "use bottom heat" for rooting cuttings - those are the plants I try to root during the hottest part of the summer.

Back when I used to compete in the state fair garden show I would sow seeds and root cuttings about this time of year and have most of them in full bloom by fair time which was mid October - so you have plenty of time.
