I only have two, both are house plants. Since my house is new last year, all my plants are new as well from greenhouses. The family gardeners have all long passed before me and the house. I do have a cactus that I was given by my mother 20 to 25 years ago. It's kind of a scraggly looking thing, supposed to be some form of Christmas or Thanksgiving cactus. I would love to repot it and get it in better shape, but I killed my Peace Lilly that way. It was about 10 years old. The cactus is still kicking after that long and she had it for 17 years when she gave me cuttings. I may get brave and get some specific Cactus soil and see what I can do. Got to get the nerve up for that one. :-) I also have an aloe plant I got maybe 15 years ago from a friend. I've had to re pot it, it way outgrew it's pot and was screaming for new quarters. It's doing well, and providing great memories and burn medicine in my kitchen now.

I have a split leaf philodendron that has been divided and scattered across the country. It came from a friend in Arizona, but now is in homes throughout the Carolinas. The original plant must be 25 years old by now.

My mother and sister have lily-of-the valley from my great-grandmother's garden in Shawano, Wisconsin.

I had some at my last house, but have not gotten any from my mom or sister for my current house because I am just starting to add plants to the back yard, and there is still a battle with wild violets holding me back.

I have several from my Fatherinlaw, he loved flowers. I use to love to putter around in his gardens when we visited. He got a lot of his from his mother and she was another that always had amazing flowers around her home and farm. I would imagine that a lot of what she had was leftover from when her parents had the farm. Nothing tickled them more than to share whatever they had.
