I would wait until the temps cool down in Sept, but it should be pretty easy. Just whack it back to a foot or so, dig it up and replant. It will soon generate new growth.

I've moved a big one successfully. My rule of thumb for relocation of large plants/trees/shrubs is October/November in NC. I've never had a failure, even with rose of sharon, hydrangea trees, and recently a huge climbing hydrangea.
