LOL. Don't be sad. I think a good idea for your foyer would be to place the piece with the picture over in the area where the plant is located and add a beautiful round mirror for some glamour. In the area where you have the entry piece, place a small bench for seating and place some beautiful pillors that will add color. Also, in the foyer right by the door, add a beatiful rug and don't be afraid to go large on it but make sure it fits in this space. In the picture below,I added stripes tthe wall and I think that will bring character to your entry as well. Good luck and have fun!

I don't think you need a rug. Show off your beautiful floors instead. You could add a much bigger picture or mirror to the wall over the table. You coul add an arm chair with a small round table with flowers, a small lamp, books, candles or small plant on top. Or add a colorful bench and pillow, or small cabinet or dresser (could be in a color or not) with some accessories mentioned on top of it. I would place the snake plant, not the stand, on the floor beside the table.

I also think a small table or chest where the plant is could be used to introduce some favorite objects or interests. Then you could add art over your longer table and put an area rug there to warm up the entry to the larger room. You are fortunate to have so much wall space available there to set the mood for your home.

I agree with the above comment. I would love to see an over sized mirror or a big piece of art work instead of the painting you have now. Your floors are beautiful so I personally would not put a rug in front of the table (it may also make the area look smaller). I would also add a lamp and possibly a box for keys and any odds and ends (possibly some books under the box to add height). A family picture could be nice there too.

I think instead of the picture if a mirror with nice thick frame is hung over the console table, will look very nice. It should be hung lower than this picture. Right now there is huge gap in between table and the picture...... Missing a connection between the two.
The plant looks small for the space. I picture a Nice big wing chair in the corner. Spread a throw on it and a small table on the side with some books on it or old fashioned phone will look very inviting in the foyer. I would suggest neutral colour for the chair so that you can embellish it by using a 'seasonal' throw to bring in the spirit of all the season's into your house. Good luck.

I would move the table to where the plant is hang a piece of abstract art above something with color...you are lacking a pop in your color scheme ...doesn't have to a huge item can be a decor piece of art like a small vase or statue a large vase in a corner. The small wall with the picture in your living area off the foyer there is or it looks like an alarm system or thermostat... well your plant could go there. How attached are you to the plant? Re-pot it in something bigger to match your furniture...the wall with the table could have a nice picture with lots of color to draw your eye through to that area and beyond. A large mirror will mirror in more light and if it's big enough can be used to check yourself before you leave the house ...lol...two uses ;) I really like the painting on the right but also like the whimsical sense of the one on the left.

What about painting the area behind the plant the same dark colour as the wall you see through the hallway and then put something rich and cream or bright where the plant is in front of that new colour? Adding dimension and layering of colour both with the hall, the stair way and in anticipation for the next room. I would lose the table in the hall area and get a big tapestry in a shear fabric for that wall... I am thinking the hall looks like is should just be a walk way to the other area of your house not a place to furnish...

I suggest a very large mirror over the console that will reflect what is on the orchid and place a lamp on the console as well. You should have a rug at the front door. In the stair corner I suggest a lovely chest or desk and chair with an attractive lamp and a painting over it. Hope this helps! :)

I suggest a round table where your plant is, topped with some accessories, then remove the console and picture above it and replace with one large piece of art, simple but effective. I would not put a rug over the beautiful tile floors (maybe a small one at the door during the rainy season)

That space seems to call for a nice 6'+ multi-level Rhapis Excelsa Palm. They are very hardy and beautiful. Depending on what kind of planters you like,and it looks like your floors are travertine..you can get away with a large basket-type planter or a heavy rim concrete pot.

When i said rug, not a rug that will change the character of the floor but put in the search bar above foyer rug and you will see some ideas. At the end of it all, it depends on what you like. I will definitely take a pic of my foyer when i am done. Enjoy....
