When it sprouted from a stray three year old seed unearthed during my cultivating I was going to pull out this poisonous plant.

It was growing so happily,I decided to let it be and just keep clipping off the seedpods. Large,spiky balls.

The removal of the seedballs seems to be encouraging datura to keep blooming and keep growing.

It's now 7' wide (having fallen over in a July rainstorm),4' front to back and nearly 3' tall.

If it continues to bloom until frost it's a fair guess this one plant will have put out well over 150 blossoms.

This volunteer came up in a spot where I dump my coffee grounds and peanut shells. Also where I dump my creek sand after taking the gold out.

Likely I couldn't reproduce these great growing conditions again but this summer I'll remember for this determined datura.
