Someone else suggested it was a daylily. I opened it and there are 3 seeds inside of it. Kind of tan about the size/shape of a bloated tick. I'll winter sow them and see what happens.

They have black seeds.

I think you should sow it and label the pot 'Spinach Chicken' just for grins.

For some reason I'm thinking its a buckeye, but not one of the normal buckeyes. You'll need to crack open the capsule anyway. If there is one big seed inside I would think tree. If there are million tiny seeds then I would think perennial.

LOL, I might just do that, John. It has 3 seeds in it. A little smaller than a navy bean and tan colored.
