I have a Clematis roughly 20 years old. Type unknown. Every year I've had wonderful fowering until the past two years when the leaves have turned brown throughout the plant. Last fall I cut the vine down to the ground. This spring the plant began growing at a rapid pace with clean green leaf growth. As of today I noticed the leaves beginning to turn brown again fron the base up.

Can anyone please give any guidance.
