I saw something awesome where a friend of mine (a very artistic friend!) painted in the angles to look like windows in an aquarium, and had fish painted in them. I'm sure there are all kinds of wall decals for those less artistically inclined. :)

if the paint is in good shape how about just adding some of the boys favorite things as wall art or try those peel and stick shapes they have now. and...have to get rid of the frilly and get some plaids and blue/greens in there.

I would do the reverse here, paint the ceiling and knee wall a color, for instance taupe walls and sky blue ceiling or soft grey ceiling, darker grey walls......keep your window treatments tidy, I would use a stagecoach valance with panels and wood blinds....remove chandelier and add ceiling fan or pendant...

you can do the shortest walls in a chocolate brown and the vaulted ceilings in a light blue ..or go with a blue on the walls and keep going softer in shades as you go up..i disagree with lefty47..i think you can break it up

I'd paint the lower walls a "boyish" color like navy blue (BM's Hale Navy is my favorite) and leave the ceiling white. You could then use the white furniture and then choose accessories based on the boy's favorite sports or activities or interests. Navy and white could become nautical, baseball-themed, space-themed, football themed... you see what I mean. :)

Hello! I would paint all the trim and doors with off-white semi-gloss. The best thing to do in a space like this is to minimize contrast, so it feels/seems bigger than it actually is, but still have some interest, not be dull. An easy way to achieve this is to select two colors of the same hue, but different values. So for example if the toddler chooses a saturated orange color-paint the 2 far walls his color and the remaining walls and ceiling a color 2 shades lighter. If he chooses a light color (1st/2nd lightest on the paint chip) paint the color on all the walls and ceiling, and paint the far walls 2 shades darker. Easy Peasy Have fun...

I go with light blue on the angles and slightly darker on the ceiling and add led twinkle lights on the flat.

The trundle bead adds play area and room to have friends over.

Remember it has been shown that playing complex classical music in the background at bedtime will increase the brain development in the math and computational areas of the brain. It worked for me.

Great Space! I would panel the side walls up to the slant, and paint the paneling whit-include the closet doors so they blend in, wallpaper the back wall and choose a color from the wall paper for the slant and ceiling.

Oh geez! Put some color in there! I doesn't look at all like a toddler's room. You could make some awesome play areas.

Given that this room seems to have only one window, don't paint the ceiling anything but white. If you want to paint the vertical walls dark, leave the slanted ones white or a very light color. If you have too much dark paint too high up, you will have a cave effect.

I once looked at a house with a fantastic space/sky/star mural on the ceiling in midnight blue. The walls were a medium to dark green with a jungle theme. Quality of the murals was outstanding, the room was dark and depressing. It had a big window and I looked at it on a sunny day.

get some primary colors in there like red, blue and yellow. Toddlers need this. Besides, all of the toys he's interested in will have these colors. Forget going with 'ultra-classy' for now and let him be a kid. When he gets older, then you can class it up a bit. Make the room fun!

This is exactly like my son's room. I added a stripe around the room with one color above and one below and a white ceiling. I went with a brown, tan, blue combo so that the boyish room was appropriate as he became a teenager. The picture isn't the greatest but it will certainly give you an idea. Hope this helps!

Thank you everyone! We just bought the house and this pic showed the previous owners' decor. ;) I like Interiors By Holly's idea and may do this. Although I was also thinking of putting beadboard on the ceiling and painting the rest a fun lime green and incorporating aqua blue and orange with rugs, bedding, etc. So I'm still figuring it out and you all have been helpful!
