That is beautiful. How much sun is it exposed to or what side of your home is it on? I'm just starting to grow clematis and all of mine are out in the yard with little shade.

Just beautiful against the brick. It pulls the blue/grey tones from the brick and makes that wall outstanding.

I just took a couple more pictures that may help with how tall he is. I've swapped my twenty pound tabby for my six foot tall 16 year kid. Yeah, she's a tall kid. And the blooms themselves are big. It is Jackmanii, insn't it? I've had it for twenty years and it was bought real cheap from somewhere like Henry Fields.

Gee, I'll get old in twenty years.... I'm wondering if you still cut it short to the ground every year? ( I understand this is a type 3 clematis)

It been growing that well for a long time. I forget how long, but quite a while. At least a decade and probably much more. And I learned it blooms best when cut down to about 18 inches. I haven't the guts to go shorter.

Both "specimens" are simply stunning!

I guess they both are the result of good genetics and devoted nurturing. :Great job!
