I moved mine this time last year and it was fine. I cut it back and dug it up and stuck it in a pot. Make sure you keep it well watered. Fall or spring would be better choices though if you can wait.

I moved mine early this Spring when I was pruning them. It is only half the size it was last year, but at least I didn't kill it. Cutting roots off when moving sets it back, but hope it will catch up again next year. It will have some flowers this year, just not as many.

I just moved a huge Dawn last night, and got a lot of the root ball, so hopefully it will be ok. I'll keep it well watered... but Spring for me is better due to the short growing season.
