I've had 'Blue Princess'. It didn't overwinter for me and I don't recall a fragrance so it must not have been strong. Verbena 'Mystic' was very fragrant but I lost it too last winter. It did overwinter once for me.

I don't think any of them are what a normal person would consider fragrant. You would have to cut them and bring them inside and stuff your nose deep into the flower to smell them.

Is Lemon Verbena (Aloysia triphylla) not fragrant? Maybe just the leaves?

Maybe conditions were just right but my 3 ft spread of Mystic was very fragrant when in full bloom. I could smell it 5 ft away on my deck. Unfortunately that was just one season.

Mystic definitely sounds like one to try.

My favorite thing about 'Mystic' is the color - it looks pale lavendar during the sunny part of the day and then a glowing baby blue in the evening or twilight. I don't remember mine being fragrant but I had it planted with all sorts of extra smelly tropicals so it may have been over powered. Mine only lasted a few years. I will plant it again, but for the color not the smell.

I love the fragrance of my Lemon Verbena - or anything lemon-y.

I got some seeds of lemon verbena in a trade -- I can't wait to try it. Especially after seeing/smelling it at the Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill.

I collected a wild Verbena here 15 or 20 years ago that has a great fragrance ....the only one I have ever noticed that did and it can be noticed several feet away ...it clums nice but dosent get huge and winters well and also reseeds itself in the garden

I just bought one that is very fragrant, although it doesn't carry on the air. I have to put my nose up close to get it. It's Verbena x hybrida 'Wesvereshim Estrella White Improved'. The scent is perfumey and sweet.
