Mine rippen in Febuary or March. A year sounds like a long time for the Meyer?

My calamondins take about 6 months to grow and ripen. My Ponderosa lemon takes about 8-9 months. I think it may have a lot to do with day length as much as time.

Our kumquats planted outside zone 10 USUALLY ripen in February or March like Frank's in zone 5.5 which I find really interesting.

Thanks folks. My Kumquat dropped all but 2 of the fruit. The two that are left are growing in size. The plant is still outside because temps are still 80-90 day and 60 - 70 at night.

Yeah, I'd still like to know what indicators there are of when you can pick. Obviously, taste testing is one way to go. Seems a little risky to do, especially with a kumquat ;)

Is yours a Nagami or Meiwa or something else. I picked my Meiwa kumquats when they were half ripe and they were very good.

I have about 30 fruits on the tree, I don't know how many will come to mature. I only have fruits one other time sincebImplanted the tree 7 yr. ago. Very unpredictable fruiting habit. Why?

Pot or in ground?

Is it flowering and setting fruit and dropping, or just never flowering?

I have a nagami in the same stage. They should be ripe by Jan/Feb.

My outside bush, roughly 3 full feet in diam, is stating to flower now
