I get excited with just my 'ready mades' but how much more it must be to have created or at least carried the torch of life. Sorry to be so giddy ;)

I'm feeling stoked for you Dax. You've created life. All the best with all the rest.

Rah Team!

What's the story behind 'Crestwood Kenny'?

Dave

Hi Dave,

It's a reversion of Picea glauca var. albertiana 'Rainbow's End' that Ken named for his boy: 'Crestwood Kenny'. Crestwood is the street/ave/ct where he lives.

Dax

Probably would not survive here because I don't grow on sand.

Dave

You're getting senile in your late years! It's a Picea glauca grafted to a Norway spruce. What are you talking about foo?

Dax

If it came from Ken it has to have sand. I don't care what it's grafted on. If you are going to plant it better import a gal. or two of Michigan sand.

Not to far over the hill not to realize that.

Dave

Hey Dave,

If Ken can grow Chrysanthemums does that mean that you need sand to grow them where you are? Or, a Ginkgo....

Or how about A Picea glauca Pendula growing at your place and at Ken's.? LOL

What the hell is going on here? LOL

Dax

If they are his Chrysanthemums I do. Not just sand but pure sand.

Dax...just having fun...you know. Whenever I think of Ken I think of sand.

Dave

I feel like I've been thru a blender and returned a meatloaf.

Dax

Does 'Crestwood Kenny' have a second yellow/white flush like it's parent plant or is it plain green?

Dax, great looking grafts. It is nice to see that they are starting to push new growth. Awesome!

Matt, my recollection is that the first flush isn't as good as Rainbow's End but isn't green either and that it either doesn't have a second flush or, the second flush is green.
I do like the color of the scion very much.

Thanks lady. My landscape is coming to life and so is the greenhouse. It's odd that the furthest along graft is a spruce. My soft & hard pines, pretty much nothing. My spruce and firs, they're the ones showing the most swell.

Dax

Things are moving along very-slowly.

Thank you.

Dax

Looks good. And congrats on the Quercus dentata!

I'm going to have (2) flats of oaks breaking. They look excellent.

Late Sluice.
