I received this fern from a garden buddy several yrs back. I want to say she rescued this fern from being mowed over by the road crew. Seems like she said it was a Alabama endangered fern I could be wrong but was curious to its name. It has a real soft texture compared to the other ferns I have.

This is a great fern. It occurs here locally on moist shaded slopes near sea level.

You know i thought that looked like Bracken! A much maligned fern over here. Nobody likes it and no animal will eat it.
