Need help with master bedroom

I could use some advice on pulling our master bedroom together. Our bed and linens are from our previous home, and I want to work with them. Our new house has a kind of rustic feel, with a whitewashed knotty pine trim. Would appreciate any suggestions for a dresser for below the tv. Also need a storage solution for the narrow side of the bed. Would like a place to put alarm clock, etc. Would also appreciate any suggestions for art, drapes, etc...Thank you in advance!

Congratulations on your new home!
Great room, BUT...
The room is lacking some WOW, so try doing something on the bed wall, to give it a real focal point. . I would suggest either painting it the green from the pillows or taking a darker color , say the stripe that is on the spread and doing a stencil wall w one on the awesome new trellis stencils that are available today, or taking a high gloss in he same color that you have on the wall and painting stencils or stripes. Then add three pieces of art behind the bed. The middle one higher to stay with rhe vaultd ceiling and the two beside it, even on each side. The side table...if you have just any kind of small table that is about 29" high, you could try either painti it the color of your headboard or white washing it to match the beams. Whatever you do, also paint the one you already have. I am also thinking I would look in the garden center for something unusual for this space.
Now drapes. Since the room appears to be small, I would stay close to the color on the wall and take a dark brown wooden rod all the way to the ceiling. Then either hang the drapes on wooden rings or you could use a rod pocket heading. You could add the brown (from the stripe on the spread) to the edge of the drape in like a 4" piece on the inside edge...just to carry your brown around w/o overpowering the room, or if you stencil the bed wall, you could also stencil the edge of drapes w that same stencil and color.
Lots of DIY projects for you, so whether you use any of my suggestions or not, I hope I have gotten your wheels turning. Good luck and send finished pics.:)

Normally I don't like matchy-matchy things, but in this case I would say try to find 2 nightstands that match or are at least compatible for both sides of the bed.

And for under the tv, look for what they used to call a "man's chest" dresser. This is taller than a regular dresser and usually contains 5-7 drawers.

Here's a low dresser with a driftwood type finish from west elm that might suit the rustic look you are going for. Also check out west elm for small side tables.

I would put shutters on your windows, at least the one I can see. That's because I only hang draperies to the floor and they wouldn't show on that window. I'd have to see pix of your other windows in order to comment on them.

Your walls and ceiling would look great painted in the blue of your accent pillows on the bed. Please DO include the ceiling when you paint. It will make a world of difference in the coziness of your room.
I would add an off white shag rug to the floor. Add a large piece of art or a pair of smaller pieces on a wall that has nothing else on it.

For the furniture piece to go under the TV, I'd probably choose something in an espresso finish, such as this one from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80195862/

The first thing I would do is get rid of the tv. The bedroom should be for only two things and watching tv is not one of them. (That is just my opinion)

I would paint the ceiling the same colour as the wall. The colour you chose is a wonderful colour.

Bedside tables would be a good idea. They don't have to match if you don't want. To save room on them mount lights on the walls on either side of the bed.

For the bed I would choose something with a little bit of the colour you have on the walls.Black contrasts nicely. That might just work. And lots of soft pillows on the bed.

I like two Highboys instead of one highboy and a dresser. It brings symmetry to the room if they are both the same hight. I would like to see black for these and the same for shutters on the window.
