I want to test making Dahlia cuttings and do have a very detailed description of the process. I found it on this site, a link to an article by Portland Dahlia.

They mention to use "sterile potting soil",
so I wonder how to achieve that. I planed to use a soil less seed starting mix, based on sand, some peat moss and some composted wood fibre stuff (according to the writing on the bag).

Should I treat this stuff somehow or would you use it straight from the bag?
