Yes, the Scarecrow by Contech works just like the description says it will, has saved my roses from deer. I'm thinking I should buy a second that I can aim on just the raspberry patch. The people at Contech have been very customer friendly too, when a spring broke in my Scarecrow they replaced it without even asking for proof of purchase.

It was easy enough to set to spare my mail carrier from being sprayed, my paper boy loved it and made a game of it...the utility meter reader was not quite as amused (I wasn't home the day it caught her full in the backside, but the neighbors heard her swearing)

I've heard lots of good things about motion-activated sprinklers as deterrents for deer and other mammalian vermin, but I haven't heard if anyone's come up with a way to keep them working in the frosty winter weather, which is when deer often do their worst damage. If anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

I bought the scarecrow sprinkler after reading the review at allrepellents.com. They do work good. In fact, I abought another one after getting the first.

In the winter... that's tough! Sorry no recommendation for that except fencing.

I have been doing research on these motion detector sprinklers and have found them to be effective.

I found also that the Contech "Scarecrow" has more favorable reviews than the Havahart "SprayAway"

I bought two and am looking forward to getting them going. I did not use to hate cats, until I started receiving daily gifts from my neighbors.

Round two just about ready to start!
