The house is 2/3 on foundation and the other 1/3 on slab. Where it changes from one to the other, the ground slopes down to the flat crawlspace area under the house; sinks about 2-3 feet over 8' distance or so. The front porch is built over part of this 'gap'.

How can I fill in next to the house, or re-grade the rest of the yard, so it's reasonably landscape-able?

I have roses planted around the porch I'll happily move if it will help, but short of making a water feature with a narrow walkway next to the house, I can't come up with much.

Help?!?
