I like the light/medium taupe selection, and would like your kitchen in a lighter shade of the green that is shown on the wall. Should be lovely!

a muted yellow would give it life and brighten it up, since the cabinets are dark.

I like the green you selected. Have you considered painting the cabinets? I think a lovely off white (and paint all your trim that color too). I would also add crown moulding. Other colors to consider are tan/beiges to light golds since your floors and backsplash appear to be in these color families. I would also recommend changing out the fan for something to go with your updated look.

I have a friend that did all tan, black and linen colors in her house--absolutely classy. Then you could add pops of color to change the look each season--red hand towels and apples in the fall, switch to greens in the spring, pops of orange with bright flowers in the summer, etc. It would help to have a brief description of your style. I painted out house a taupe color because on our friends' big airy home full of windows it looked like warm cocoa. In our tiny 900 square foot house it was too dark--it's all relative!

I would paint your walls a deep Harvest Golden Yellow. This color will match very nicely with your kitchen and all your chosen accessories. ( think Tuscany :o) This paint color may also ever so slightly visually change the wood hue tones in the cabinet. Consider changing the hardware on the cabinet doors (if you have knobs etc. ) to a rustic bronzed metal. Happy Painting. I hope you would satisfy.

I recently painted a client's old oak cabinets with Rustoleum Cabinet Restoration kit. Used the linen base and finished with a glaze. Turned out beautiful at a fraction of the price of new. Really brightened the kitchen. They chose Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams (soft blue/green) but with the taupe a soft grey green would be really nice.
I think that the olive is too brown and will clash with the taupe.
