care for wilted perennials

24 years ago

I am stressed from seeing all my wilted plants....so, what is the best course of action to take for perennials that are wilted that I can't water?

Would cutting them back 1/2 or to the ground relieve them of some stress -or- add more by inducing the plant to re-sprout?

Or should I just leave them alone and let what happens, happen?

Thanks for any advice. :)
