I have grown a couple of domesticated strains, and the wild weed grows with abandon here. I don't see any difference in flavor whatsoever, but I think that the cultivated types are far superior for culinary use. They grow upright, aare much larger, easier to harvest.

Thanks denninmi. I did some reading on the forums and the claim that the wild type taste better is what I gathered from here but Purslane doesn't grow wild here or at least I don't see it.

Maybe I just don't like the flavor of Purslane and I'll just have to accept it. The Purslane I've grown tastes grassy or slightly like watered down spinach but I've heard people describe the taste as lemony before.

I was hoping to like it as I've heard it's rather nutritious and easy to grow.
