The HARVEST forum had a post about violet sugaring. There may be more sources or processes used for making edible flowers.

Flowers are so perishable I doubt that they could be shipped unless dried, taking the charm out of them. Maybe you could ask one of the organic farmers at the farmers' market if they would be willing to grow some out for you and give them the seeds, just a thought. I grow my own, nasturtium, johnny-jump-ups, chives, borage, dianthus, rose, and squash blossoms.

Thanks for the suggestion. I need the flowers real soon. Our farmers market doesn't have anything organic. We live in pest heaven here on the coast and it's almost impossible to find successful organic gardeners here. Last year there was a segment on a food show and an address was given for a supplier of organic flowers(I believe they Fed EX). Of course I didn't write down the address.

Hi!...came across your post during my own search for edible flowers. Found one source out of California "freshorigins.com" that has a great chef quality selection but you have to contact them for pricing etc. Other options...try networking with your local Health Food store/Grocer or ask a neighbor who has the appropriate plants/flowers (and who doesn't use pesticides etc.) if you can purchase a cut bouquet. :)
