I didn't see any answers to my questions in other forums, so I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong forum. I have been growing some sorghum in my backyard in San Diego, California, and it looks like it's close to harvesting time! I have seen many postings for ornamental sorghum, etc., but I'm pretty sure the variety I'm growing is grain sorghum, as it only comes up to my torso and it has really put its energies into the heads of grain. (I believe the seeds came from Peace Corps volunteers returning from Paraguay or Africa.) Does anyone know how to harvest/prepare the grain for consumption? My wife and I are looking forward to a homegrown meal.
