I feel weird asking this, but - I've just moved to the area, and have no plants or seeds to swap. Can I participate anyway?

Of course you can still attend the trade, and there are a whoooole lotta free plants. Most people people are happy to give away their plants with no swap necessary because they want to go home with new plants, and not take theirs back home with them. Sometime, someone will have something they think is worth enough that they will insist in a trade, but that's unusual. It's really only a 'swap' in the sense that you are 'swapping' your plants for new plants, even if you're not doing one-for-one trades.

I thought I had posted a response on Sunday, but I don't see it here... Hmmm! I actually have things potted up (no "day of" digging this time!), including some native plants: Coptis (golden thread), Nothochelone Nemorosa (turtlehead), some nice looking sedges, and I don't know what else! I also have some miscanthus 'morning light,' a calla lily, and some cute little strawberry begonia plants potted up. There will likely be more by Saturday, including some Escallonia (apple blossom) (if I can get enough of the roots to make viable plants), some pink panda ornamental strawberries and who knows what else?!

Jacque, I was in your position years ago and was amazed at the generosity of these gardeners! Feel free to bring a tasty treat to share or just come with an empty car!

This should have posted as the 2014 Fall Plant Trade. Now people are going to pull this post up next year and everyone will be confused.

Tammy, I live in a state of confusion, you know! If they look at the date it was posted ( which most probably won't), they will be able to see that it is for 2014.
