It just seems really long to me. I keep looking at the birthday bulliten board outside the library and thinking, "Is it STILL October?" Usually January is the month like that. I hope this is not an omen of things to come! LOL

Shelley, things always get better. Maybe it's a good thing your son hasn't gotten his license yet! Glad to hear your little girl is okay - another good thing!

Our little goober came down sick today...nothing too serious I suppose...but still not fun. Other than that most things are good...oh yeah...and DH's crazy ex has the insurance company investigating us for arson on her new mini van... :-P Oh well...that may turn into a good thing...she's nuts enough she likely did it herself and to try and get DH in trouble...if that's the case, the insurance guys will be the ones to find it...they're pretty clever...and they really don't like insurance fraud.

Shelley, I'm glad your daughter's ok...that must have been scary! Good luck to your son on his drivers test.

I'm getting or perhaps already there, burned out from work. I really need to look somewhere else for employment. But where in a lit' hick town... Wal~Mart maybe? ;)

Well, I'm with you, Shelley, unfortunately. I'll know more after Nov. 8 but I think I have blown my knee out again - torn medial meniscus (cartilidge). At this point, I'm self diagnosing but I've been through this before and this is worse than the one 2 years ago. I don't know when or how I did it but I cannot walk without severe pain.

I managed to get some mega pain killers from one doctor but I need to see the orthopod really quickly. Here we go again. His office told me I need a referral again and I would be able to see him sometime between January and June (seriously) after I get the referral. If I thought it was an emergency, I could go and wait for him in emerg. I phoned emerg and the nurse, after laughing her head off, transferred me to the cast clinic. Of course they will see me but the earliest I can get to see him is Nov. 20 and I'm on the cancellation list. I did manage to get an MRI booked (on a cancellation) for Nov. 8. In the meantime, I'm keeping it iced and elevated for most of the time. Looks like I'll be in for a lonnnngggg winter.

I'm so glad to hear that your daughter is OK, Shelley. That's a scary type of accident. I've got my 15 and 16 yr old DSs going for their learners' permit these days. The 15 yr. old got his and the 16 yr. old failed. Pleasant times in the homefront these days, I'll tell ya!!

What a thing to happen, Shauna! I know how bad it hurt when my knee was out last fall, and it was nowhere near what yours is. Owie, owie, owie. Here's hoping you can get some action on it and get it fixed.

Make it three. I got called into the office yesterday and the company told me that they made a mistake. So my promotion is gone. I finished my shift yesterday, but today I'm taking a sick day. I've got 18 hrs OT on this check anyways.
Right after my meeting, I applied for a different job within the company. I've decided to try welding. I might as well try something I know really nothing about. I'm tired of being an unrecognized asset.
One good thing about this whole incident is I all of the support that I recieved from my co-workers. We are a close bunch.
BTW, yesterday my 16 year old finally took his road test and passed. I'm happy for him.

Shauna, sorry to hear about your knee. Severe injuries and doctors are never fun.
Sharon, I can relate.
Verena,it's never nice having sick kids. My 6 year old is home from school today. And ex's are so much fun. I don't even want to get started on that subject.

I've just put an application in for HR, Mangement or Finance for the new Walmart coming to our town in January. IÂm going to see what they have to offer.

Yes, I said welding Sharon. Tomorrow DH and I are going into the shop so I can practise. He welds so I should have a good teacher. Last fall I went over to weld for a week so I have a bit of experience in this field.
I might add that I am not upset about not getting the promotion, but I am mad at how the whole situation was handled. I am mad that the company has no respect for their biggest asset--their employees.
I may be little, but I am mighty. (And very stubborn.)

I didn't start welding until 5 weeks ago. I postponed the transfer because of ongoing health issues. But I am rather enjoying it. I've decided to stay at this new profession. I took my level 2 weld test after 2 weeks and passed, which means that I will only have to take $1.50 wage cut. I am determined to pass my level 3 weld test before the end of the year and then I will be back to the same wage that I was before. I just need more experience with the job before I'll tackle that one.
Welding is kind of like putting icing on a cake. Once you have the knack, your set. There are so many pluses in this new job, that I can't even list them all. The biggest 2 are less STRESS and physically easier.

Health wise, I've been feeling alot better. But I wish those doctors could figure out what the heck is wrong with me.
