any kind of earthy color will work. I like the green.

I vote for Middle Parlor! But what color is your furniture, carpet/floor, accessories, etc?

all those other colors are very 1990"s/2000's.......I would go with a very light gray, such as Ben Moore's Classic Gray or Light Pewter. And then I would add alot of white into the room through furnishings/pillows etc....

How dark is dark? Well, it hardly matters as I suggest you close your eyes and think about what you would paint the walls if the trim were white. The paint them that color and display lots of art on top of them. And, crazy thought: Hang your art first and block out the space that the art takes plus about 9" all around it and paint that part of the wall white before putting the color of your choice around it. You'll create a new sensation in wall painting! And you won't notice that dark trim.
