Anyone in cold climates grow figs?

Just curious if anyone grows figs. Was looking in Richter's catalogue about one called Hardy Chicago that apparently can die back to the ground in that city and still produce fruit that year.

I know in zone 3/2 it would basically be a patio plant outdoors on the deck for the summer, indoors for the winter, but apparently you can keep the plant in a bright window for the winter, or else wait for it to lose it's leaves in fall and store the plant in a cold room.

I think in milder climates they can be heavily mulched or there is a method of digging a trench and burying them. Likely wouldn't work here as too cold.
