Peonies and iris are glorious. I love them. I've inherited my uncle's peonies, he planted many different varieties on the property. I'm happy you can put a name to yours, I can only guess. Thanks for sharing.

My flower garden is along a fairly busy sidewalk -- we live near a whole foods and a starbucks so we are on many people's morning walk route -- but thank god I have never seen anyone trying to steal my blooms (yet). That must be insanely frustrating.

Gorgeous, I have several peonies but it looks like only one is going to bloom this year and.... 'Sam Donaldson' is about be chucked, I've had it for donkey's years, it has never so much as given me one flower, it's supposed to be a lovely deep red but you couldn't tell it by me :(.

Annette, I've had the same experience with Sam Donaldson. Highlight is a good dark flower (darker than my picture). Maestro has somewhat lax stems, but also is a good dark.
