Ranunculus

I bought a ranunculus as a pot plant recently and was wondering if I plant it out in the spring and lift the bulb in the fall, will it be ok next spring? Given that it was forced into bloom now I mean.

I'd actually like to get a few more as corms if I can find them. Any suggestions as to care/selection/suitability for our climate?

Oh BTW I realise Ranunculus is a large genus - I mean the corms known as Persian Buttercups.

A few years back I had picked up 2 potted ranunculus which were in bloom. I stuck them in a large urn with other plants and outside they went. They finished blooming and then pretty much disappeared after that :( So, in other words, I can't help you out at all, sorry. Hopefully, someone else out there has had better luck with them and can give you pointers. Btw, they're lovely flowers and if you get any good tips, I would like to try them again.

Well my only experience with ranunculus corms was about uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 20 or so years ago. I saw some in a catalogue and ordered them. I planted them in my zone 4 or so garden at that time....they flowered that summer and I didn't lift them....so don't know much about them. I would think you could treat them like freesias though...maybe try it and let us know.
