Amaranthus 'Velvet Curtains' ??

I'm just wondering how tall does it typically grow around here? I know the package says 5'-7' but does it tend to stay more like 5' around here? How tall it grows will determine where I'm going to plant it. I'm thinking it would look wonderful in the center of my 'triange bed' if it stays around 5' tall but if it gets taller then that I'll have to put it with the sunflowers at the back of the border.

Mine have never come close to 5', usually more like 3' and I don't space them very far apart (about a foot or so). I've seen Sharon's pictures of large Amaranthus and always wondered how she manages that. Mine are always transplanted in full sun and normal garden soil.

Thanks pudge! I'll count on more like 3' then for me too! My stuff just never gets as big or tall as Sharon's either! LOL Would love to know her secret!

LOL, no secret Ang and like I wish they could reach 7', mine don't get to 5' either, more like 3-4', must be the camera playing tricks on yah gals ;)

OK, actually I'm kinda glad they don't get too tall because were I want to plant it 3-4' would be great! Although, on the other hand in a different spot taller would be super cool! LOL
