Which pinot have you?
Most common is the noir....I don't know for what zone, most likely something like 5 or 6,
I'm afraid that Homedepot got some tender stuff in again and not worth buying unless you have a heated
greenhouse year round.

I bought a pinot gris from Walmart a few years ago and it pretty much dies back to the ground each year. Last year it did produce one thing of grapes, which were about the size of sweet pea seeds. Someday with global warming I might actually get some grapes.

This year I was thinking of ordering a grape collection from Vesey's (Valiant, Kay Gray and Minnesota78) or Dominion Seed (Somerset, Kay Grape, Montreal Blues). They say they are zone 3, although Dominion has my zone listed as 2 in their catalogue so I'm weary. Anyone have experience with those varieties?

What if I bury it around first frost with plastic wrapper and then mulch on top? would it survive? I'm in Calgary
Do I need to add sand into soil? my back yard is clay'ish ...

After a closer look at the tag, it is Pinot Gris.
With the speed it is growing right now, by the time I transplant it into my backyard, it will reach the ceiling of my living room lol, I will need to use some support by the end of this weeke for it. And it's still in a small pot. Guess I will have to move it to a bigger pot before moving it outside.
Really hope the sunny spot I prepare for it in my garden make a nice home for this little thing (not little soon)
