I planted a very nice, healthy rose daphne late last summer. It seemed to take well and stayed evergreen throughout the winter. I didn't mulch it too thick (about 2") and it was surrounded all winter by other dead plant material. It seemed to be making it very nicely through the winter and even up until last week. Suddenly, the leaves are starting to turn yellowish and dry and are starting to drop. Any thoughts on what might be happening? I really want to save this plant. If I can get it to come back (it's not showing any real signs of spring growth yet) will it start to sprout new leaves where the old ones dropped off?
