Newest plant concern

I would like to find a "vine" to plant in partial shade in my tiny back yard. I have 2 areas [possibly] 3 where I would like to have climbing plants to give some height without taking up a ton of space. The area where I was thinking about putting a hydrangea would be in the sw corner of my yard where there is some morning sun - direct overhead sun from 11-1:00ish and then shade for the rest of the day. Would a climbing hydrangea fit this area? It would get lots of snow cover in the winter. I'm almost decided to include an Endless Summer as part of the bed and thought that another hydrangea would provide continuity. The other area for a climbing plant is full sun from 10 - 4 - a real hot area when it is sunny. This year I'm using a Mandevilla vine - may or may not find an indoor home for it this winter so I may be looking for a perennial vine next year for that spot. Thanks for any opinions about the hydrangea or anything else you think would work
