'Early Scout' Peony

I just bought this one at Canadian Tire. I paid $10 for it. When I got home I checked for some more info on it. It is early flowering, has finely dissected foliage and grows about 2' tall. Peony Superstore has this one for $40 and Dutch Girl in B.C. has it on for $20. I thought it was a really good buy and I may just go back and get another one. The mahogany color isn't to bad either! Just thought I'd pass on this info. Marg

Is the bloom mahogany? Sounds like a trip to Canadian Tire is in order!

Most pictures I've seen of it show the coloring to be quite red, rather than mahogany. Still, it is a nice deep red. And I've heard it is a good variety.

Mine just opened. It's a true deep mahogany colour. Maybe when the picture is taken in full sun it would be more red. Marg

They never had it at our Canadian Tire. :( I looked at the peonies this year too and saw nothing different except Primavere and i already have two of those.
