I would wait, because it's hard to say exactly where the live tissue ends and the dead wood starts. I've had trees resprout above where I thought the freeze back point was. I seem to remember too Ray Givan wrote somewhere saying it shouldn't be cut, but he didn't explain why, just that the plant preformed better if left unpruned.
