Faye, it's hardy zone 3-8, but our current summer is acting hotter than a zone 8. It does not always perform well here either, and needs moisture but drainage. Sometimes it comes back. When I ran the garden center I used to use it only it pots for the deepest shady areas that were close to the house (shady patio) where they'd get watered regularly. Even then, not so great in August...

I guess I will have to find something else for that spot but I sure loved the way it lit up the shady area.

I have experienced the same thing with creeping jenny (gold variety). After almost 5 years in the same location, it has dried up and died. We finally got 4 inches of rain yesterday, but I pulled up the dead jenny and replaced it with tips of sedum and ice plant that I could pinch in my own garden to use.

Don't give up yet. I have several varieties and they usually come back. This has just been a hotter than normal year and they don't like that! nor do I.
