Can anyone give me advice. I think my fig tree was lost to the winter as were so many of yours. It produced a tremendous amount of figs this year, but has no growth at all except for 2 shoots coming from underground. The trunk has soft spots at the base and the branches break of with a snap. Many of you have cut them back. I am wondering shoud I remove the whole trunk cutting it right to the ground or just prune it back
