Hard to tell without flowers. Ajuga?

It could be - in my mind I see purple/blue flowers, and after bergenia we thought maybe bugloss, but the leaves don't look quite right - maybe I'm wrong.

Immediately I think of ajuga. I have a clump at home and it can get in very tight spaces. Perfect for high traffic areas.

Ding, ding - I think we have a winner - looks like it might be ajuga black scallop. We needed something to fill in as we are trying to get some tough perennials in the front garden. I like the look of that and I've never had much luck with bergenia anyways!! Thanks All.

I love the plant which is just like yours. I have both that large leafed ajuga and the mini leafed one. Looks good combined. Anyway, I just should add that these plant are semi-invasive types.. They do jump barriers as I discovered mine managed to grow beyond the garden bed, across the rock filled weeping tile and into the grass area. But it's easily controlled. Just watch it.

Good to know - we sort of need it to be a little invasive and tough in the garden it's in!!
