The answer is no.
The scion wood I got from a grower, he said the tree or trees he cut it from, are growing on the west side of 75 Street, about a block or 2 just north of White AV. I phoned the grower yesterday, because I always wanted to see the trees. I went today, there are 3 trees in total, 2 together and the other about 50 yards south. These trees, standing among other trees like spruce, lilac, Hawthorn and others, also other shrubs, planted by the city.
Most fruits are down, I couldn't believe how huge those trees are, one measured about 2 feet across on the bottom trunk, the canopy about 7 meters across.
I gathered some seeds, there is still a ton on the ground, still some from last year. Anybody interested in growing some seedlings should go there!!
I have grafted some others like westcot onto a plum, the fruit is not ready, still on the green side.
