the cuttings are from a mature tree, so yes its possible.

Fig is really crazy. I picked two branches and air-layered them. After 5weeks I checked and found a lot of roots filling the rooting plastic bag. What draws my attention one branch has two little figs on it. I did not remove the branches from the mother tree yet probably in two weeks, I am debating about the two little figs probably I will remove it to let the tree grow stronger.

i was wondering the same thing, removing the figs to improve the growth of the tree. today i noticed many more figs on the young tree and would like to leave them to see if they develop but am thinking it would be better to remove them so the tree will put energy into growing........
