Syreeta, I'd suggest you trade your dogs in for female dogs, just kidding, I love all dogs, however why is that dogs love to pee on cedars and other evergreens other than to mark their territory? I have no idea what evergreens are dog urine-proof but I do remember my mom use to buy these hanging scented thingies that you hang on the end of the branches, called something like doggie-be-gone? and the dogs pee'd somewhere else like the fire hydriant and hubcaps of cars ;)

What if you planted small deciduous shrubs in front of the evergreens? Barberry comes to mind - all those thorns would surely stop him from venturing further to lift a leg.

I was thinking of a deterrent spray or something too. I actually chose a male dog so he would lift a leg against the fence and not make brown patches on the lawn like the females do. I don't have any patchy grass problems but I do notice wet irises every now & then... doesn't seem to bother them though.

I have both a male and a female dog. She leaves lovely brown patches all over the grass. I'm not a big grass person (it is green and grows I'm happy), so I don't mind to much. I am thinking though that a slow growing blue spruce or something along those lines might be more "hardy" to the acidicness of the urine. I do like the idea of a deterrent spray though. I might only have to spray the shrub until he learns not to pee on it. If not Barberries here I come!

Hopefully this winter he doesn't go after any of my deciduous shrubs. At the last house we were in I planted a Mock Orange that a friend no longer wanted. It stuck out past the snow by about 2 feet. He decided that it was actually sticks that I had burried for him to chew on. Needless to say the Mock Orange was no more after that winter. :(
