Bird identification?

Don't think I've seen this kind of bird before, he had been sitting in the top of a dead tree while singing a rather a unthrifty song.

I think you have a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

I have spotted this bird one time too.

Actually, I wonder if both of you have a female Black Headed Grosbeak.

The Rose Breasted Grosbeak has a pale bill, and heavy streaking on a whitish breast.

The Black Headed has a dark bill, and the female has light streaking on a buffy breast. They both have yellow armpits in flight, and both have 2 white wing bars. The immature male of the Black Headed Grosbeak is similar to the adult female male but doesn't have streaking on the breast.

Lucky you (both of you). I've not yet seen one.
