I am new to GardenWeb, I am a regular poster on GardenGuides though.

This was my 1st year gardening. We just bought our house in Feb and there was nothing but 90% dead grass

I started in spring with a few free-standing planters, and ended with 2 trees (a dwarf alberta spruce and a dwarf crabapple), about 12 raspberry brambles, 2 blueberry bushes, a raised brick strawberry bed w/about 90 Tri-star strawberry plants, a 17ftX4ft flowerbed, a window well bed, and plans for another flowerbed to be dug in early spring. I love Aquilegia's and sempervivum's, and my husband really likes daisys.

Wow, that was fast. I was just going to come back to the WS forum to tell you that things are a bit quiet right now on our Far North forum lately and here you are. Welcome to the Far North. I think it is just we all decided that we had to get back to our "non-gardening" lives for awhile. Don't worry. It will pick up soon after Xmas when we all start looking at our seed catalogues again. Right, everyone?????

Sounds like you have a really good start on your new gardening ventures. AND an interest in winter sowing. You're well on your way.

Marcia is right. But, I want to look at all of the ones in the prime of bloom. Do you REALLY want to see pictures of my dead looking garden under a mere 1/2" of snow, which will probably be gone by Saturday? I'm thinking it really looks pretty desolate right now. LOL.

I don't have a digital camera, or a scanner so pictures are going to have to wait. I'm hoping b/c I've been such a good girl this year, Santa brings me a 3-in-1 for Christmas....
Evenings are my own from after supper till the toddlers bedtime, so I get on the computer!!!

Welcome, Wildie, and don't ever be shy to chime in. Great thing about this place is, we all get to be student sometimes, and teacher other times. And like Al says, lots of laughs, too.
