Hibiscus cannabinus or Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa).

Its an edible leaf. Its famous in southern part of India.

Bunti. Thank you. We had a freeze down here and I harvested the pods before hand - the plant looked like it was going dormant anyway. We have some small freezer spots on it, but I think it will make a recovery. In any case, we have a ton of pods. My wife got it at a plant swap here in Savannah. It really likes the soil here and its location I guess. Thank you so much. now I can care for it better.

Its called "Gongura" in our language. If you google, you will find plenty of information.
