I live in the Piedmont of North Carolina, Greensboro, High Point, Winston Salem (the Triad).
Yesterday, a good friend gave me several Black eyed Susans from his wife's garden, which he was thinning out.
While I certainly appreciate the gift, and had discussed wanting them if the opportunity ever arose, Getting them yesterday (Sept 1) was unexpected.
Right now they are full plants,three feet long, bunched together in a plastic bag around the roots.
My concern is the hot weather and how I can preserve and plant them.

Should I plant now, (it's 90+ degrees!) and hope for the best?
