ordered dwarf fig tree online - now what?!

I have just received a dward fig tree that I ordered online. It is in a 3 inch pot, so it is very small. Should I plant it outside (I live in Greenville, SC zone 7), or should I plant it in a pot until spring and then put outside (in pot or in ground?)?
